Delaware man reels in 53-pound blue catfish

Wildlife authorities in Delaware reported that an angler hauled in a massive 53-pound blue catfish, breaking a state record that had been established less than a month earlier.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control's Division of Wildlife revealed that Sydney McBrook, a resident of Bridgeville, made the impressive catch in the Nanticoke River.

The colossal catfish surpassed a state record set just 20 days before, which was a 48-pound catfish.

McBrook's remarkable catch measured 46.5 inches in length, marking it as the largest freshwater fish caught in Delaware since the state initiated the practice of keeping recreational fishing records.
