A Seattle resident with a goal of playing golf at 500 courses in a single year has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing the current Guinness World Record.
Patrick Koenig is on a mission to secure the record for the most 18-hole golf courses played within a year. On the 287th day of his endeavor, he completed his 450th round of golf at Omni Interlocken in Broomfield, Colorado.
This achievement places him ahead of the current Guinness World Record of 449 courses played in one year, established by the married couple Cathie and Jonathan Weaver in 2009.
Koenig had previously attempted this record five years ago but fell short, having managed to complete 408 courses. He documents his journey, referred to as "The RGV Tour 2.0," online. "RGV" represents the "recreational golf vehicle," the moniker he gave to the RV he utilizes for traveling from one golf course to another.
His ultimate goal is to set a new record by reaching 500 courses played within the span of one year.
