Hungry crocodile gobbles up python in South African park

In a remarkable and unexpected encounter, a python found itself in an unfortunate situation when it chose the wrong time for a drink at Kruger National Park in South Africa. Out of nowhere, a highly ravenous crocodile emerged.

The extraordinary event was witnessed by Gayle Erasmus on the Sabie River Bridge, just south of Lower Sabie. Gayle shared her photographs and recounted the story with LatestSightings.com.

On September 15, Gayle decided to take a short drive south of Lower Sabie, stopping to enjoy the breathtaking view from the low water bridge. This particular bridge is a favorite spot for many park visitors because of its proximity to Lower Sabie, allowing them to stay there until just a few minutes before the gates close.

"We love this bridge because there's always something fascinating to see," Gayle explained. "On that day, as we looked around, a massive splash seized our attention. To our astonishment, a crocodile had captured a python. We couldn't discern whether the python had encountered the crocodile by accident or not."
