New Zealand man bungee jumps 941 times in one day

In an impressive feat, a New Zealand man has informally reclaimed a world record by bungee jumping a staggering 941 times in a single day.

Mike Heard had initially set the record for the highest number of bungee jumps in 24 hours outdoors using a 16-to-32-foot cord in 2017, accomplishing 430 jumps. However, his record was surpassed in 2022 by François-Marie Dibon, who achieved 765 jumps.

Heard decided to live stream his attempt to regain the record from the Auckland Harbor Bridge, where he successfully completed 941 bungee jumps within 24 hours.

Speaking about the experience, Heard remarked, "Occasionally, you get a sensation akin to seasickness or motion sickness, but I pushed through it and carried on. It didn't hinder us or slow us down in any way," as he shared with the Australian Broadcasting Corp. following his remarkable endeavor.

The record-breaking effort was also conducted to raise funds for the Mental Health Foundation.

"We have a mental health issue in this country, and I want to help shed light on it and encourage New Zealanders to talk about it. I want my children to grow up with a positive mental state, and this is an excellent platform and opportunity to achieve that," Heard explained to One News.

Heard mentioned that the necessary evidence from his attempt would be submitted to Guinness World Records to officially regain the title.
