Cats are often said to have nine lives, but one feline has gained notoriety for an entirely different numerical reason – it possesses two noses.
This "one-of-a-kind" double-snouted cat has been welcomed into the care of Cats Protection's Warrington Adoption Center.

The staff at the Cheshire-based center has christened her Nanny McPhee, drawing inspiration from the fictional character in the movies, known for her distinctive nose.
Initially, the four-year-old cat was assumed to have a single, unusually large nose. However, a medical examination by the veterinary team revealed it was two.
Fiona Brockbank, a senior field veterinary officer at Cats Protection, remarked, "A cat with two noses is a first for our field veterinary team. This is a genuine rarity, and thankfully, it isn't causing her any issues."
Ms. Brockbank clarified that Nanny McPhee has a "congenital malformation," which is the term used by doctors for such conditions. These conditions are often referred to as "birth defects" because they develop in the womb.

Nevertheless, the staff at the center has described Nanny McPhee's condition as exceedingly rare. Ms. Brockbank added, "Other congenital malformations in that region of a cat, like a cleft lip and palate, are not uncommon. They can result from inheritance or incidents during fetal development."
Nanny McPhee, who was surrendered due to her previous owner's health and financial challenges, is now seeking a new home with a loving family.
Lindsay Kerr, the center manager, stated, "We have all grown fond of our one-of-a-kind Nanny McPhee. We can't help but be captivated by her two noses. She has proven to be a gentle lady who adores attention and cuddles, and we are optimistic that her newfound fame will bring her numerous potential adopters. She truly deserves a loving family where she can settle in and be the center of attentions
